A-Level Success Across the Trust

This year’s A-Level results across our trust tell a powerful story—one of resilience, ambition, and the transformative impact of education when schools, families, and communities work together.

At Barr Beacon School, students once again raised the bar, with 20% of grades at A–A* and over half at A*–B. Headteacher Mrs Hibbs praised the “determination and resilience” of this year’s cohort, recognising the dedication of staff and the unwavering support of parents and carers.

Wednesfield Academy celebrated a notable increase in A–A* grades, with more students than ever heading to top universities to pursue subjects from experimental psychology and engineering to law and computer science. BTEC results matched this success, averaging a Distinction grade. Mr Phillips spoke of his pride in seeing students “realise their ambitions and take their next steps with confidence.”

At Smestow Academy, the class of 2025 achieved an exceptional 98% pass rate and delivered the school’s best post-GCSE progress scores in years, with a 0.24 improvement in value-added compared to 2024. Mr Chamberlain described the results as “a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, the commitment of our staff, and the unwavering support of parents.”

Etone College once again welcomed its Year 13 students with celebration and pride, marking another year of improvement with an increased average overall grade and an average point score of 30.48, performing above the national average for top grades. This is a remarkable achievement for a cohort whose early Key Stage 4 years were shaped by the pandemic.

Dame Elizabeth Cadbury School proudly announced another strong set of A-Level results, enabling students to secure places at prestigious universities and competitive apprenticeship schemes. Their achievements reflect the hard work, determination, and ambition of students, supported every step of the way by dedicated staff, families, and the wider school community.

Bloxwich Academy celebrated the success of students who, after two years of dedication, secured their first-choice destinations—whether university, apprenticeships, or employment with training. Students will progress to universities including De Montfort, Keele, Derby, and South Wales, to study a range of subjects from Computer Science, Law, and Psychology to Biomedical Science, Animation, Nursing, Sport, and Education. Headteacher Mr Till praised “the dedication to studies” and acknowledged the vital role of staff and parents in encouraging every student to reach their full potential.

While each school has its own unique character and strengths, the common threads running through all our schools are clear:

  • Ambition – students setting high targets and meeting them with determination.
  • Support – a strong network of teachers, leaders, parents, and peers who encourage every step forward.
  • Progression – young people leaving school with the qualifications, skills, and confidence to succeed at university, in apprenticeships, or directly in the workplace.

Together, these achievements are a testament to the shared values of our trust and to the belief that every young person—regardless of starting point—can excel when given the right opportunities, guidance, and support. A massive thank you to our entire body of staff for supporting all our 2025 cohort.
