This CPD session focuses on deepening the impact of our Teaching Principles by embedding consistent routines and clear cues into everyday practice. Our Teaching Principles are the foundations of effective instruction across the school, yet the wider world of educational research offers an overwhelming range of strategies, ideas, and approaches. This session helps make sense of that landscape by showing how these strategies map onto our existing principles, rather than sitting alongside or competing with them.
A core message of the session is that routines and cues are the practical mechanisms that bring teaching principles to life. When applied deliberately and consistently, they reduce cognitive load, create predictable structures for pupils, strengthen behaviour for learning, and make high-quality teaching feel seamless.
