Matrix Academy Trust celebrates Pride in Place at fifth annual Trust Day.

Nearly 900 colleagues from across Matrix Academy Trust came together at the ICC in Birmingham for our fifth annual Trust Day, celebrating our achievements, recognising our people and looking ahead to another year of making a difference.

This year’s theme, Pride in Place, celebrated the pride we take in our schools, our communities and the work we do together.

We opened the day with a special performance of Never Forget by Take That, bringing together pupils from across our Trust schools as part of our pupil choir project. The performance was a wonderful celebration of togetherness and set the tone for a day full of inspiration, recognition and community spirit.

Inspirational guest speakers.

Our colleagues heard from two extraordinary guest speakers.

Russ Cook, widely known as the Hardest Geezer, shared stories from his remarkable endurance challenges and the determination it takes to overcome obstacles and achieve ambitious goals.

David Holmes, whose story is told in The Boy Who Lived, delivered a powerful message of resilience, courage and overcoming adversity.

Both speakers kindly signed books for our colleagues, with more than £360 raised for our new Trust charity through the additional donations from the book signings.

We finished the afternoon with the return of Mr Motivator, who had everyone out of their seats and moving. His energetic session reminded us that movement is medicine and encouraged us all to make wellbeing a priority.

Mr Motivator also introduced colleagues to his bed bank charity, which supports people experiencing hardship. We look forward to working with him throughout the academic year to support this important cause

Celebrating our people.

Trust Day was an opportunity to recognise the incredible colleagues who make Matrix Academy Trust such a special community.

Our awards celebrated the achievements, dedication and contributions of staff across our schools, shining a light on those who go above and beyond for pupils, colleagues and their communities.

We are proud of everything our colleagues achieve and grateful for the difference they make every day

Young Minds named our Trust charity of the year.

During the day, colleagues voted for our next Trust charity of the year, selecting Young Minds.

We look forward to supporting this important charity through a range of fundraising activities throughout the year, helping to support young people’s mental health.

Our fundraising plans include the launch of our staff two-day 24 Peaks Challenge, bringing colleagues together to take on an exciting challenge while raising money for Young Minds.

Nearly £5,000 raised through our staff raffle.

Our Trust Day raffle raised nearly £5,000, an incredible achievement made possible by the generosity of our colleagues and supporters.

We are hugely grateful to the kind suppliers who donated prizes through our Trust schools. Their generosity helped make the raffle such a success and created plenty of excitement on the day.

The raffle was a highlight of the event, with fun games and challenges getting our headteachers and colleagues involved and adding plenty of laughter to the fundraising.

Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, bought tickets and took part.

Beyond the Badge.

Our Beyond the Badge feature celebrated the passions, talents and achievements our colleagues pursue outside their roles at Matrix.

From hobbies and personal projects to remarkable achievements and interests, it was a chance to get to know the people behind the job titles.

Beyond the Badge will continue throughout the year, giving us more opportunities to share staff stories and celebrate the many things our colleagues achieve beyond the classroom and workplace.

Taking pride in what we achieve together.

Our fifth Trust Day was a celebration of our people, our schools and the communities we serve.

From the opening pupil performance to our inspiring speakers, staff awards and fundraising achievements, the day captured the pride we take in working together to make a difference.

Thank you to every colleague, speaker, supplier and supporter who helped make the day such a memorable celebration.

Education Without Exception.
