At Matrix Academy Trust, we couldn’t be prouder of the Barr Beacon School community. Throughout the year, our schools come together to celebrate success in many ways, and this year Barr Beacon has shown exceptional dedication — not only to learning and achievement, but also to supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The entire school community has embraced this cause wholeheartedly. From a community sports event raising £385 to collection jars gathering over £625, staff and students alike have gone above and beyond. But they didn’t stop there!

To bring the community together even further as part of our community champions project, Barr Beacon organised house walks inspired by the Matrix Staff 3 Peaks Challenge. Forty students were selected to climb their house hill — Clent, Bredon, Wrekin or Malvern — alongside their Head of House. Despite soaring temperatures, these determined pupils have raised over £6,000 through this fantastic initiative.

Fundraising efforts are still ongoing. What a brilliant example of community spirit and teamwork across our Trust, all in support of a wonderful cause!
