Staff Conquer Hadrian’s Wall Challenge for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.
Over the weekend, 71 members of staff took on an incredible challenge, travelling the length of Hadrian’s Wall from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend.
Covering more than 84 miles in just four days, the team battled soaring temperatures during the weekend heatwave, as well as a few unexpected hiccups along the way, including last minute hotel cancellations and more than a few painful blisters. Despite the challenges, spirits remained high throughout, with everyone pulling together, supporting one another, and sharing plenty of conversations and encouragement along the route.
A huge thank you goes to all of the support workers who travelled with us, looked after everyone throughout the challenge, and helped organise every detail behind the scenes. Their support made this achievement possible.
We would also like to give special thanks to Mike Palmer and Andy from Three Dads Walking, who joined us for the first two days of the walk. It was a real pleasure to walk alongside them both and hear more about the inspiring work they continue to do.
Most importantly, thanks to the incredible generosity and support we have received so far, we have now raised more than £34,000 — and the total is still rising for PAPYRUS.
Fundraising efforts will continue right up until our Trust Day in October 2026, and we look forward to continuing to support such an important cause together.
