Lynsey Draycott, David Lowbridge-Ellis, and Gary Smart led a session titled “Safe and Secure: Effective Lockdown Procedures and Protocols”, focusing on the importance of proportionate lockdown procedures in schools. We had a brilliant turnout and were genuinely humbled by the positive feedback from delegates who are eager to bring SMART Response into their own settings.
The session explored the increasing importance of effective, proportionate lockdown procedures within schools and academies. Drawing on real experience from the Trust’s own lockdown incident, the presentation examined how lessons learned have shaped the development of SMART Response® – Matrix Academy Trust’s national initiative to support schools in implementing calm, structured emergency procedures.
Matrix Academy Trust is proud to lead the national conversation on lockdown preparedness, ensuring that schools across the UK can access practical tools, training, and support to keep pupils and staff safe – all free of charge.
