The Trust Shelf – A Matrix Book Club

We're thrilled to announce that the Matrix Book Club has launched – created as a chance to discover new reads, share perspectives, and connect with colleagues in a relaxed and welcoming space, all while promoting a love of literacy across the Trust. There's nothing like bonding over books, swapping stories, and discovering that your colleague secretly loves the same quirky novels as you do.

Our very first session kicked off with warm hellos and introductions – putting faces to names and sparking instant connections across the Trust. Then, we jumped straight into this month's pick, The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, sharing thoughts, laughs, and a few "wow, I never thought of that!" moments.

Next up, a fun "Guess the Cover" quiz – everyone had a great time trying to identify the books from their covers, with a huge well done to the winning duo from Smestow, who claimed first place like true bookish champions!

We wrapped up with a cozy chat about our favourite reads, reading habits, and how we keep track of all our literary adventures. Everyone got involved in voting for next month's theme, and Horror/Thriller came out on top – so get ready for some spine-tingling page-turners!

It was heartwarming to see colleagues connecting beyond their usual day-to-day roles, sharing laughs, and building a little reading community.
